Category: Mind shifters: Creating a Culture of Love, Sincerity & Beauty

Here is a song about attitude…the tendency of people to turn away from those who need help… the modern-day attitude of  “it’s not my problem”.

Sorry for the harsh picture, but how can this happen on our Earth, where there is enough food?

The song references issues of poverty and oppression, lamenting on the tendency of people to turn away from those afflicted with such conditions. We have to let go of such attitudes and move twards a new paradigm!

The “new humankind” embraces all human beings, the Earth and all plants and animals as a part of one’s own family. There is no discrimination between one’s own blood ties and others. All life is seen as valuable and precious and love is extended all around.

I like this song, because it ends with a hopeful note: “no more turning away….”

It’s a seriously beautiful song…enjoy!

On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we wont understand
Don’t accept that whats happening
Is just a case of others suffering
Or you’ll find that you’re joining in
The turning away

It’s a sin that somehow
Light is changing to shadow
And casting its shroud
Over all we have known
Unaware how the ranks have grown
Driven on by a heart of stone
We could find that were all alone
In the dream of the proud

On the wings of the night
As the daytime is stirring
Where the speechless unite
In a silent accord
Using words you will find are strange
And mesmerized as they light the flame
Feel the new wind of change
On the wings of the night

No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
No more turning away
From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It’s not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there’ll be
No more turning away?

What is REAL success in life?

We are having to ask ourselves this question anew, now that material wealth has gone out of fashion 🙂

There is a lovely quote which somehow sums it up by Ralph Waldo Emerson

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Albert Einstein

A human being is part of the whole,
called by us “Universe,”
a part limited in time and space.
He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings
as something separated from the rest
– a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us,
restricting us to our personal desires and
to affection for a few persons nearest to us.
Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison
by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures
and the whole of nature in its beauty.
~ Albert Einstein~

Where does food come from?

Where does water come from?

Where does your house come from?

These days, because of our distorted economic system, we think that food comes from the local store, or if we are pushed we might say “oh, the farmers of course”…

We think that water is supplied by “the water company”…

and that our houses come from “the building company”…

and we think that we have earned the right to those by paying for them with money…

It is because our viewpoint has become distorted.

We have become completely seperated from nature…We are so detached from the very entity which feeds and clothes us, which provides us with water and which raises us from a tiny baby into adulthood. As a mother, how do you think earth might feel, as her children just take what she gives without ever saying “thank you” or having a grateful mind…? Without the reciprocity, Earth might eventually lose the inclination to love and support us…

The farmers who work the land, do not make the vegetables or fruit themselves, they merely assist them to grow.

The water which nature provides for free, is only channelled by a company into your home.

And the building materials for your home were gathered from the soil under your feet, the builders merely assembled them.

Let’s not forget the real origin of all our blessings.

We have not “earned” them, simply by saying “I buy my food and pay for my water bill”.

Don’t we owe nature a big debt?

We should treat her with deepest respect and a grateful mind.

I am wondering…Specifically, what is the energy of love …?

Here’s what I think…so let me know what you think about it through comments:)

Although love can be expressed in many different ways, its energy is all the same. That is –  life force. Loving people are lively and a loving society is full of vitality. Love is the energy that runs the Universe. It is the fundamental power that makes the very core of all things. The first stage of love is the love between man and woman, new lives are born out of that love. Love is the energy that creates such lives.

Secondarily, if love is directed toward people, not only between a man and a woman, the love brings about the development of consciousness. That is – people don’t only live by human instinct but develop their inclination to the path of evolution. As people come to know what they should do on the stage of the “Earth”, they will be newly born as conscious entities apart from  just being natural beings.

Next, when love is exalted to the dimension of love for nature, people become aware not just of visible lives but of invisible ones. If you feel like saying hello to animals and plants, you have already begun to believe in invisible beings 🙂

If you feel the love of plants that is full of pure love, you will become conscious of the circulation system of the Earth and will be in accord with family members of the living entity, the Earth.

Next comes the love for “Heaven” – not in a christian sense, but in the sense which includes the earth and it’s surroundings – seeing the earth and yuourself as a part of something higher. You will enter the stage where you realize why you were born on the Earth and what you have to do on the Earth. Then you will finally develop the consciousness about the Universe and begin to seriously think about the question “Who am I?.” Your love is then promoted to the level of the Universe.

Like this, love may exist in many different levels, but we can say it is all the same in the characteristic that the energy called love creates new life force.

So I wonder…. If the consciousness of humanity grows and their love increases, can we change the situation of the upcoming crisis?

I guess the land cannot be restored even if you realize the value of a land after we have ruined it. I think we will have to go through what we should, but I believe that the intensity of the crisis can be decreased. If many people recognize and love the Earth as a living entity, they will be able to perceive the signals of the Earth. When they can converse with the Earth, they will be able to literally discuss the situations with the Earth. They will be able to evacuate in advance because they can receive information about the impending volcanic eruption.  For instance,  if you had to listen to the Earth right now, what do you think the it would say? It could be a predictable answer…that since the balance and harmony of its circulation system are broken, it would moan because of its serious illness –  it can hardly control the system anymore, so global warming and abnormal weather conditions come about

 – What can we do for the Mother Earth who moans with serious illness?

At first, we should sincerely feel sorry about  Mother Earth who has almost died because of her children who lack good sense and we should apologize to her. And then, we should think about how to cure her.  Growing life through securing farming or forests can be one of the healing methods for the Earth.

If you put things into action one by one in this way with your concern and stir up your interest and love for the Earth and living things, that will be a solution. Love may sound unreal, but it is a very real method. In order to overcome the present crisis, humankind must fall in love with the Earth. It is love.

If we get to understand and love the earth sincerely, and don’t think only about  survival because of fear, the energy of the love will make us act unconsciously and that will make everything grow. If the actions and minds of such love are continued, the effects will spread like dominoes and will become a part of the entire consciousness of humankind and the Earth would cease its violent self-cleansing. Furthermore, the power of such love will be the source from which humankind will be born as the heroes of the new age.

I believe Earth is waiting for us to wake up…

From now on, let’s offer our sincere love to Mother Earth.

I would like to share the blog of someone who is making a real difference and who seems to view our changing culture in a way which makes sense to me: That our changing world is not a tragedy, but an opportunity.

In the following article, he explains his vision …: Why ‘Transition Culture’?

Rob Hopkins is the co-founder of Transition Town Totnes and of the Transition Network. He has many years experience in education, teaching permaculture and natural building, and set up the first 2 year full-time permaculture course in the world, at Kinsale Further Education College in Ireland, as well as co-ordinating the first eco-village development in Ireland to be granted planning permission.

He is author of ‘Woodlands for West Cork!’, ‘Energy Descent Pathways’ and most recently ‘The Transition Handbook: from oil dependence to local resilience’, which has been published in a number of other languages, and which was voted the 5th most popular book taken on holiday by MPs during the summer of 2008.  He publishes http://www.transitionculture.org, recently voted ‘the 4th best green blog in the UK’(!). He is the winner of the 2008 Schumacher Award, an Ashoka Fellow, is a Fellow of the Post Carbon Institute, served 3 years as a Trustee of the Soil Association, and was named by the Independent as one of the UK’s top 100 environmentalists. He is the winner of the 2009 Observer Ethical Award for the Grassroots Campaigner category, and in December 2009 was voted the Energy Saving Trust/Guardian’s ‘Green Community Hero’.  He lectures and writes widely on peak oil and Transition, holds an MSc in Social Research and recently completed a PhD at the University of Plymouth entitled ‘Localisation and resilience at the local level: the case of Transition Town Totnes’. He lives in Devon and is a keen gardener.

Recently, I have been thinking about how having a body is like a full-time job  and how great it would feel to be free to move between the material and non-material realms if the Earth changes from the 3rd to the 5th dimension, like many spiritual people are saying. I am secretly really looking forward to that, because I believe it is all true, but I suspect that this is not going to be such a comfortable transition to make 🙂

For anyone who doubts that the energy of the earth is changing… You should trust your own feelings more…

Can’t you feel that something big is about to happen?

Doesn’t your body feel more painful? Do you have trouble sleeping?

I think the shift is already happening…

And that the enhanced physical and mental pains are actually “growing pains”. For us, who have lived with our bodies all our lives and who have come to be rather attached to them,  it is bound to be uncomfortable. I wonder why are we so tied to our bodies now, even if we don’t want to be and if or how will we change into the state of Ätherleib (ether body)?

Here is what i think…

Having a body is a necessary course of study on planets of the 3rd dimension and which must be a lucky circumstance in a universe which is 99% non-material. I have heard that having a body is highly sought after by beings who wish to evolve themselves. Having a body is difficult, as you study on the very edge of the material and non-material world. As a human being it is the place where both extremes of being an animal and being god-like are experienced simultaneously (as the most evolved animals on the earth). A body is the ultimate cosmic classroom.

I found a piece of Korean spiritual wisdom called “How to Maintain the Holes in the Body” I guess it is a summary of the course of practice to change one’s body into a spirit body, through evolution. There is something about this piece of wisdom which really makes sense to me. I have always thought that the way we behave and relate to the world through our body, shows our spiritual level…

Here it is:

How to Maintain the Holes in the Body

“In order for a human to elevate his / her status, one needs to manage the holes given to the human well.

There are nine holes (for women there are 10, including the reproductive organ) in a human.

That is, two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, a mouth, a genital, and an anus.

They can be called passages to connect the human’s inside to the outside world.

If one manages the holes as an enlightened being does, then one becomes an enlightened being,

if one manages them as a human does, one becomes a human,

if one manages them as an animal does, then one becomes an animal.

The way to manage the holes like an enlightened being is,

first, to manage them so that they are clean.

You should have interest in them and keep them clean.

They should not be dirty, smelly, or infected.

Secondly, it is to manage them neatly.

There are:

things that one should see and things that one should not see,

things that one should hear and things that one should not hear,

things that one should let in through a breath and things that one should not,

things that one should let in through one’s mouth and things that one should not,

things that one should do and things that one should not do,

things that one should let in and out through one’s genital and things that one should not,

things that one should let in and out through one’s anus and things that one should not.

It is a very easy thing and also a difficult thing.”

No kidding!!! The pains and tasks of having a human body are endless, the body demands that  we must find and eat food, drink water, and excrete the waste from those; build shelter for warmth or for cooling or safety; bear children, attend to their health, wash their bodies, etc etc. Also, we should take care of their families and tend to the old and sick people around us. One could even ask about where there is space for spirituality in such a life…It is a very busy life… and as such, having a body is such an excellent tool for evolution.

But as we have to manage all of these, I think the original design of having a body was for  encouraging  human beings to make a dramatic process of simplification. Trying to live with a body is the spiritual training itself. Simplifying our physical needs and desires more and more and coming to manage our bodies and our lives in a more simple and clear way while living with the varied emotions, we would come to be lighter and lighter as we throw out unnecessary things again and again. In fact I am certain that this simplification process is a process of evolution.

It is the method for training in the third dimension – being tied to a body which you cannot escape from, in order to train one’s mind. Deciding what is necessary and what is unnecessary, what is favorable and what is unfavorable are the constant arrangement tools. If one uses the study on the material to learn about universal principles, one can make a big jump in evolution and will then come to rely more and more on unseen principles for managing one’s life, when that happens, the material body comes to be less and less important.

As one uses one’s imagination to find new ways to simplify and simplify again, one moves closer to the original nature to the spiritual direction (which is the opposite of materialsm). If this process is actively continued, I think it must be  possible to reach a state where one is not even dependent on one’s body for survival until one can exist without a body in the state of Ätherleib (ether body). It is a principle of the universe and a definite principle of evolution – that something which is not used will eventually become less prominent and will eventually disappear.  I am sure that we have lost so much DNA through focussing on the material world too much. This is how human beings came to lose even the original senses and abilities they previously had – we gradually stopped using those senses and abilities because we rather focused on getting physical comfort from the material world too much, and so, by that principle, those abilities soon disappeared.

I am wondering why has the earth has not moved beyond the 3rd dimension yet…and perhaps this is the answer…

Because the world’s materialistic culture currently rests firmly in the 3rd dimension, the frequency of the earth stays at around 3. I think the reality of what happened on earth, is that human beings stopped simplifying themselves and their needs and instead, they used their intelligence to force nature into making them comfortable. Therefore the emphasis was taken off spiritual evolution and instead it came to be based on human comfort. Before this time, there was no concept of material ownership, but as they forgot how to live without these materials which they had created, the concepts of materialism came into being.

I think the original corruption of human beings was the development of agriculture as a way of life because it suddenly entailed the “ownership” of nature’s resources, like land, water, food and soil. The development of agriculture on large scale was the taming of human beings into materialism. Instead of moving themselves to where the food was, they made the food exist  where they wanted to live. Before this time, human beings moved freely according to the seasons and reasons of nature, and did not “own” anything. The state of not owning anything means that the material is something simply to be “used” here it is and as one needs it, not something that is “owned” and that trying to own materials means there is a fundamental ignorance about reality:  That 99% of what exists is unseen.

From what I have read, energy in the form of the material has the kind of quality where the more an unawakened person focuses on and tries to own and control the material, the more heavy and stuck a human being becomes.  The person in reality does not benefit actually, but rather the belief that they “own” something gets stuck to a person energetically and immobilizes them, for example, owning land prevented human beings from being free to move.

If one really believes one “owns” something, enormously complicated things are born out of that false belief (that something can be owned). If I own something, like a piece of land then how will I protect it from others, what will I do to look after it, how can I get more of it….it will be an endless road. By the way, wasn’t nature looking after that piece of land well enough before you “owned” it? “Owning something”  is an illusion which traps the mind none-the-less, no matter what the human actually believes. So for you Suseonins, please check your minds and see if there are any traces of this false belief.  Even if you still have to operate in this materialistic world of money and property, you should empty all of those physically and energetically with the understanding that after the earth’s change, all land on the Earth will once again belong to the Universe, even if human beings live there. This is in fact the way it always was. It is humans who are confused.

In reality everything is just one thing; and all divisions between “yours “ and “mine” or even “you” and “me” are meaningless. The moment you realize that nothing is yours, then everything suddenly becomes yours. It is the wisdom of not pulling anything towards you or pushing anything away, that makes all things available to use in the necessary moment. It is a concept like one doesn’t have to own every book in the library, but one merely needs to know how to find and use the book one needs at any moment. This is the real meaning of making something “yours”. If you can empty the material attachments and meet the approval of the universe, you can be granted permission to borrow and use many things in the universe.

So by creating a culture where people “own” things; instead of lightening the body and moving towards a state of no body, humans went in the opposite direction and made themselves heavier by becoming very attached to the material. In such a way they built a cage, trapping their minds in the material world and forgot the original principle of being born on Earth, which was “spiritual evolution through having a body”.

This is why a movement into the 5th dimension has been impossible until now. Except for the high level souls who came to earth with missions or roles, there are only billions of souls in the 4th dimension who have just been repeating the reincarnation cycle of being endlessly born on earth.

So, will having much attachment to the material affect how people deal with the coming changes? Can those people move into Ätherleib (ether body)?

I believe the coming changes have the meaning of restoring the original conditions of the earth as a school. Those who can recognize that we are born in order to have experiences for the sake of evolution will survive. If they can demonstrate that belief to the Universe they could have a chance of transforming into the new humankind. But those who believe that the meaning of their lives is to find happiness or comfort or pleasure through the material or through their bodies, will not survive. The main reason they will not survive is because their consciousness is completely based on the material, and therefore they wouldn’t be able to believe that it is possible to survive without food, without water, without oxygen, without all usual materials they believe that existence depends on.

For the ones whose consciousness only includes the material, there is no space in them for imagination to be exercised and developed. Imagination is a core skill of a non-material being and is the step which happens even before the material is made to exist. In the future Earth where materials are created and manipulated on demand – at will, there is the visualization of what should be materialized first of all, before it is manifested.  There are many people on earth who believe that earth is the only planet, that human beings are the only beings and that these circumstances are the only circumstances under which life is possible. For these people, the paradigm shift would be too great for them to manage.  They would not be able to move into Ätherleib (ether body) as they would not believe it is possible to do so.

So, it seems like the ones who have no attachment to the material world, but who have imagination and visualization skills will be better equipped to survive in the future. Visualization is the principle tool of creation  because it precedes manifestation and is the way the unseen world is managed. I guess we need to learn the basics of it in the near future not just for survival, but in order to evolve to the next level – the 5th dimension and beyond.  In order to qualify, first  we should have no attachment to the material world.

How about emptying your trivial material attachments in a hurry, in anticipation of a brand new way of being?

Although we are told to empty our materialism is all sorts of messages from all sorts of places these days, I think people just don’t know how to do it. So, here is a method we can use to accelerate the process…

When you are missing or longing for aspects of the material world; or when you are in physical or heartfelt pain, if your emotional difficulties become difficult to tolerate or whatever your pains may be; try to practice the following method:

Engage your imagination and try to imagine the beautiful world after the earth’s great change. How will the pure clean Earth be? What activities are the new humankind engaged in? How is the love of the new humankind? How do they play? What are they wearing, what are they eating? What do they look like? The ideas which come to you will be the spiritual food with which you can feed yourself and  other people who are in pain, to encourage them to survive their hardships by all means.

The process of changing from an ordinary physical body into Ätherleib (ether body) will not be comfortable or easy and will not happen all at once but little by little as we overcome the pains of our bodies and sublimate each experience. By all means, let’s develop this habit of finding the joyful future in our imaginations. As we visualize the joyful future, it comes into being while the material attachments get less and less until they disappear. That future is the one which we will then manifest.

Focus on the love and amplify it and spread it out. Find the light within yourself and make it shine brightly for other people to follow. Can you feel the dimension of your study gradually change? There are so many possibilities for human beings!

Try to think like 5th dimensional beings from now on and that is what you will become.  Those who continue to think 3rd dimensional thoughts, will just stay the way they are!

Thank you for reading my long-winded opinion 🙂

I would love to hear from other like-minded people~

Each person who realizes the truth about how to live well should share those methods as much as they can to others, because the change of consciousness is the very thing which can prevent even worse scenarios in the next few years. You can change your cultures into one which can be accepted by nature and the universe.

Find the ways of living in eco-friendly communities, taking direct actions immediately such as reducing or eliminating your consumption of meat and try to understand the bigger picture of why these disasters have happened and what the responsibility of human beings are.

The faster we can awaken all human beings to the reality and come to live as part of nature, the more lives we can save in the near future. People who have transformed themselves into the new humankind will be able to survive. Earth can be reborn as a new Earth, with a new type of human being living on her land!

So, what do we have to do to change the future prospects of our world? How can we find our happy story instead of a tragic ending…?

The basic thing which the universe wants human beings living on earth to change, is their consciousness. If people become aware of themselves as a part of nature, rather than maintaining that nature is just there for your convenience, it would be the direction to which the universe wants you to move. The basic  principle is that of taking responsibility.

Having responsibility is the only way to gain a proper concept of the depth and width of the universe. It means, taking responsibility for all factors regarding your own lives – not blaming others for one’s own difficulties, making the effort to understand what the world needs from you. But responsibility, when it extends its capacity, asks you to see all the world’s problems as one’s own problems. It means thinking and acting as if one is responsible for the Earth. The first step is expanding one’s care boundary to include other people, all plants and animals and the Earth itself. Later on it is possible to have that type of relationship with the whole universe…

However, even thinking and acting well in the world is not enough either. If you know something which could save others around you, you should find the way to gently open their minds to the reality. Spreading the information about how we have been damaging nature and should stop, or letting others know how to live well too, becomes one’s responsibility when you know the real situation.

Specifically, certain aspects of culture which damage the environment and disrespect nature should be left behind as the habits of the old humankind. All aspects of human culture should be reviewed and examined for their relevance and desirability, for example – burial practices, attitudes to eating meat, hunting and poaching; how to build your houses and clothe yourselves in a way which does not cause harm to the world. All of these can be done is a beautiful, nature-friendly and sustainable manner which respects nature. If nature lives well, so do human beings. At some point, people just forgot that nature has provided everything forus to live until now.

Looking at the bigger picture… here are some specific things which people should try to change as soon as possible.

Deforestation should stop immediately, or all hope will be lost. Related to that, eating meat is very karmic…meat farming and also poaching and hunting should be avoided  because of Earth’s many endangered species of flora and fauna. Due to the deforestation there has been a huge loss of biodiversity. The answer is to find a way of living a natural life … It is necessary instead for people to learn how to plant perma culture forests, which create viable ecosystems and provide food, and this solution is the way to improve soil and hold the topsoil in place. It also enriches itself and begins providing its own fertilizer and these kinds of sustainable farming methods which respect nature and the environment will be the only ones existing in the future.

Also, people should make efforts to plant trees as a matter of habit, as they are key in attracting ecosystems to establish and they also attract rainfall by their very existence.

The Future world which the Earth would all like to see, is one where all creatures live in harmony under the protection of human beings. Under that protection, nature can reveal all of its secrets and beauty to human beings, whose eyes would have opened.

In the current situation, almost no-one knows the true beauty of Earth’s nature. It is primarily a matter of conciousness…

In a world which is deteriorating rapidly, what is the fastest way to make a difference?

I believe it is to “Change oneself”

1. When you wake up every day, think of what you can do that day, and do it.
Set forward your strengths, and make them more vivid.
Admit your weaknesses and make up for them.
We should know what our strong and weak points are and should push ahead with our strong points while supplementing our weak points.

2. While you are doing your usual work or jobs of living, do one thing more you can do to help our planet, regardless of your work.
We should do more over and above what we are already doing, by asking ourslelves every morning “What can I do right now for our struggling Earth”

3. Perhaps you could do something unique, for example, collecting garbage wherever you go and can become known for that.
4. If you want to make a differnece, you must change yourself first, then if you succeed in changing yourself, next your neigbours and family will be changed. This will happen if you make an impression of them with your effort and sincerity.
If you can’t change your own attitude, then how can you change the world?
Once you change, your neighbours and family can change.
And when they change, the world can change.
If you don’t even change yourself, then who can say us humans will change the world in the future?
That is why small actions count and are in fact everything.
Let’s change ourselves day by day and then change the things closest to us and in doing do, change the world…

The 3 steps to change the world:
1. to control yourself (emotions and desires) first through practicing no-selfness,
2. to change your surroundings with your own presence and role,
(Please refer to the movies, Kamome Diner and Bagdad Cafe)
3. and furthermore to change the world where you belong (family, friends, relatives or at least your neighbors) even by a little bit through changing yourself.
